Solana Rug Checker: Free Rug Check for Any Solana Token
Paste a Solana mint address and DeFade runs a rug check built for how Solana tokens actually rug in 2026: not through the contract, but through the wallets. It reads the deployer's history, the launch block, the funding links between top holders and the state of the liquidity, then returns one rug risk score from 0 to 100 with the evidence behind it. 3 free scans a day, no wallet connection, works on pump.fun tokens from their first block.
Rug check a Solana token →What a Solana rug checker has to look at in 2026
Older rug checkers were written for a Solana where a dev deployed a token, created a Raydium pool and could rug by minting more supply, freezing buyers or pulling the pool. So they check mint authority, freeze authority and whether the LP tokens are locked or burned. Those checks still matter, and DeFade runs them. But on pump.fun and the launchpads that copied it, every token ships with mint and freeze revoked and liquidity handled by a bonding curve. The contract is identical for all of them.
DeFade's State of Solana Rugs report put numbers on this. Of 18,884 tokens flagged as rugs, 99.9% had mint authority revoked and 72.9% had locked liquidity at the time they were flagged. A contract-only rug check would have passed almost all of them. One in three came from a deployer with 20 or more previous launches, which no contract check can see and every wallet check can.
What the Solana rug check inspects
| Check | What it reads on Solana | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| Dev wallet tracker | The creator wallet's buys, sells and transfers on this token, plus what happened to its previous launches. Transferred Out on a fresh token is the single strongest rug signal. | High |
| Launch bundles | Wallets that bought in the same slot as the launch, and whether they were funded from one source. Bundled supply exits together. | High |
| Insider network | Top holders traced back through funding hops to a shared origin, so ten "unrelated" wallets holding 40% read as one wallet. | High |
| Fresh wallets | Holders created hours before the launch, and what they have done with their bags since. | High |
| Holder concentration | Top 10 and top 20 share of supply, with exchange, locker and bonding-curve wallets excluded so the number means something. | Medium |
| Liquidity | Pool depth, lock or burn status, and whether the pool is deep enough to exit at the current market cap. | Medium |
| Authorities | Mint authority, freeze authority and Token-2022 extensions such as transfer fees. | Medium |
| Snipers | Block-one buyers and their connection to the deployer. | Medium |
The score is one number from 0 to 100; each module that raised it is listed underneath so you can see the evidence rather than trust a badge. The module reference explains every line.
How to rug check a Solana token
- Copy the mint address from pump.fun, DexScreener, Jupiter or the project's own page. On pump.fun it is the address ending in
pumpin the URL. - Paste it into the DeFade scanner. Solana addresses are detected automatically.
- Read the rug risk score and open the modules that raised it.
- Check the Dev Wallet Tracker first. Still Holding is neutral. Fully Exited on a token that is hours old is a warning. Transferred Out means the supply was moved to other wallets, and those wallets can sell without the dev's name on the trade.
- If bundles, an insider cluster and a concentrated top-10 line up on the same token, the exit was planned before the launch.
You can also open a token's own page directly at defade.org/token/<mint address>; the free scan loads with it.
DeFade next to other Solana rug checkers
RugCheck, SolSniffer and Token Sniffer are good at the contract layer and fast. DeFade is built for the wallet layer: deployer history, bundles, funding-origin tracing and fresh-wallet clusters, which is where launchpad-era rugs live. The two approaches are complementary, and we say so in the honest comparison of Solana rug checkers and the DeFade vs RugCheck write-up.
What DeFade does not do: it does not audit source code and it does not simulate sells to detect honeypots. It reads on-chain state and wallet behaviour. A low score means the known rug patterns are absent, not that the token will go up.
This page is about one chain. The same scanner runs on Ethereum and Base, and the rug pull checker page explains the kinds of rug it is looking for.

Frequently asked questions
- Is this Solana rug checker free?
- Yes. You get 3 scans a day without an account or wallet, and the first scan each day on an account that is a day old runs the full Pro analysis. Pro removes the daily cap.
- Does it work on pump.fun tokens still on the bonding curve?
- Yes. Bonding-curve launches are where most Solana rugs start, so the bundle detector, sniper detector and dev wallet tracker read the launch from its first block, before the token migrates to a DEX.
- Why did a token with revoked mint authority and locked liquidity still rug?
- Because on pump.fun those two things are the default for every token. Across the 18,884 flagged tokens in DeFade's rug database, 99.9% had mint authority revoked and 72.9% had locked liquidity. The rug was in the wallets: a deployer holding supply through fresh wallets, or bundled buyers who all exit together.
- Can I rug check a token by URL?
- Yes. Every scanned token has a page at defade.org/token/
, which loads the free scan for that address directly. Searching the mint address with the word rugcheck usually finds it.
