Monad Rug Checker: Free Rug Check for nad.fun and Monad Tokens

Paste a 0x contract address and DeFade rug checks it on Monad: contract permissions and taxes, who holds the liquidity, what the deployer did with their previous tokens, who bought in the launch's first blocks, and whether the top holders are one wallet wearing twenty addresses. One rug risk score from 0 to 100, the evidence underneath, 3 free scans a day with a free account.

What makes Monad different

Monad is an EVM Layer 1 whose mainnet opened in November 2025. Gas is paid in MON and a block lands about every 0.3 seconds, so the first seconds of a launch span dozens of blocks, and a bundle that would sit in one block elsewhere can be spread across several. The contracts are ordinary EVM contracts, so the checks DeFade runs on Ethereum and Base apply unchanged.

What is different is how tokens launch. Most Monad memecoins start on a bonding curve: nad.fun mints every token's supply to one shared curve contract and sells it from there until the token graduates to a pool, and flap.sh's Monad Portal works the same way. Doppler launches open a Uniswap v4 pool, the venue that carries most of Monad's trading. DeFade names the launchpad, reads the curve phase as the launch in Bundle Detection and Token Snipers, and keeps the supply a curve has not sold yet out of the holder figures as launchpad stock. Until a nad.fun token graduates no pair feed lists it, so its price, market cap and progress to graduation are read off the curve itself.

No hosted index lists Monad token holders, so DeFade reads each token's holder book straight from the chain's transfer logs, and contract names from Monadscan.

What the Monad rug check inspects

CheckWhat it reads on MonadWeight
Contract permissionsOwner functions still live, mintability, blacklist and trading toggles, buy and sell tax settings, whether the contract sits behind an upgradable proxy.High
Deployer historyEvery earlier token from the deployer wallet on Monad and how it ended.High
Launch bundlesWallets that bought in the launch's first blocks, on the bonding curve for a nad.fun or flap.sh token, and whether they share a funder. Spend is read in MON.High
Insider clustersTop holders traced through funding hops to a common origin.High
LiquidityPool depth on the main pool, who holds the position, and lock or burn status. A graduated nad.fun pool's liquidity sits with nad.fun's own contracts, which are named but not counted as a lock.Medium
Holder concentrationTop-10 and top-20 supply share with known contract and custodial wallets removed, and a curve's unsold supply set aside as launchpad stock.Medium
SnipersLaunch buyers and their link to the deployer.Medium

Every module that raises the score is listed with what it found. Read the finding, not the number.

How to rug check a Monad token

  1. Copy the contract address from monadscan.com, the launchpad's token page, DexScreener or the project page. Confirm it is the token contract, not the pool.
  2. Paste it into the DeFade scanner with Monad selected. The same 0x address can exist on several chains, so the chain tab decides.
  3. Read the permissions first. Live owner functions plus an unlocked pool is the fastest no.
  4. Open the deployer history. A deployer with a string of dead curve launches is telling you what happens next.
  5. Check bundles and insider clusters together. Gas is cheap on Monad, so a "community" that is one funder is cheap to build.

What this rug checker does not do

DeFade does not audit source code line by line and does not simulate a sell to prove a honeypot. It reads on-chain state and wallet behaviour. Use it alongside a contract scanner if you want both layers; the Ethereum rug pull guide explains which questions each kind of tool can answer.

This page is about Monad. The Ethereum & Base rug checker covers the other EVM chains (Ethereum, Base, BSC, Robinhood and Hyperliquid), Arc and Solana have their own pages, and the rug pull checker page explains the four kinds of rug the score is built around.

Frequently asked questions

What is different about rug checking on Monad?
Monad's gas token is MON and a block lands about every 0.3 seconds, so a launch's first seconds span dozens of blocks. Most of its memecoins start on a launchpad's bonding curve, nad.fun or flap.sh, and move to a pool when they graduate: DeFade names the launchpad and reads the curve phase as the launch. The contracts are ordinary EVM contracts, so the permission, deployer and holder checks work the same way as on Ethereum and Base.
Which Monad launchpads does it recognise?
nad.fun (both generations of its bonding curve), flap.sh's Monad Portal and Doppler. The scan names the launchpad, and the supply a curve has not sold yet is set aside as launchpad stock instead of counting as a whale in the holder figures. A nad.fun token still on its curve, which no pair feed lists, is priced from the curve itself, with how far it has to go to graduate.
Is a graduated nad.fun token's liquidity locked?
DeFade does not report it as locked. A graduated nad.fun pool's liquidity sits with nad.fun's own contracts, an LP manager with an admin role on the first generation and an upgradeable migrator on the second. Nothing has withdrawn it so far, but no code stops it, so the scan names those contracts rather than calling the pool locked.
Can it detect honeypots?
It reads the permissions that honeypots rely on: blacklists, sell taxes, trading toggles and upgradable proxies. It does not simulate a sell, so a contract that hides its trap behind logic the chain state does not expose can still pass. Treat a clean permission check as necessary, not sufficient.
Is the Monad rug check free?
Yes. A free account gets 3 full scans a day, no card or wallet needed, on Monad, Ethereum, Base, BSC, Robinhood, Arc, Hyperliquid and Solana. Pro removes the cap and unlocks the deeper wallet modules.
